Our Board of Directors and Staff
Zsa Zsa Renee (Halima) Pender was born in 1964 and is a native of Maryland. She completed her high school education, after which she joined the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Zsa Zsa was a hands-on caretaker for both of her parents before they passed away. She dealt with many issues, ranging from dementia to end-of-life care. Having experienced this first-hand, Zsa Zsa understands the multifaced emotional, financial, and physical support people need. Zsa Zsa is an active member of her local community and is sincerely committed to helping others.
Case Worker & Volunteer Coordinator
Born and raised in upstate New York, Sadia graduated with her Masters in Journalism from Columbia University. In addition to serving as our primary case worker, Sadia manages the day-to-day running of the Foundation.
Imraan Jan was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He completed his bachelor’s in Biology from Rutgers University and then earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is currently training to be a radiation oncologist. He has held leadership roles in student clubs throughout his undergraduate and graduate education. He has a passion for helping others, and hopes to continue giving back through his work at the foundation.
Consulting Case Worker
Rania was born in Egypt and raised in Northern Virginia. She is a certified life coach, mentor, motivational speaker, and consultant. Rania has a diverse work history and well-versed background, which has guided her to proudly do the work she does in the community. Additionally, Rania served as a Board Member for Tarbiyah Academy, an Islamic International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Maryland. She continues to volunteer her time assisting others in need, and volunteers much of her free time assisting non-profit organizations serving women of all ages and refugee families.
Khalid A. Sattar
Khalid was born and raised in Chicago. He completed his BSc in Marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University and then worked for a number of years in Market Research. After traveling abroad for a few years with his wife and son, Khalid settled down in Maryland, where he works as a management consultant.
